P. Garayt & S. Chevliakov - Les Soirées Musicales de Grimaud

"The most beautiful prayers of sacred music and opera"

Patrick GARAYT (tenor), Slava CHEVLIAKOV (organ)

Works by Gounod, Franck, Puccini, Mascagni, Tosti, Verdi

Sacred or so-called church music contains beautiful pages. The human voice, and especially that of tenor, has always been the favored vector for composers who have written unforgettable pages such as César Franck's Panis Angelicus or Gomez's Ave Maria. Others have slipped into their operas sublime moments of recollection, such Verdi with the prayer of the condemned (excerpt from his opera Oberon) or Puccini with his famous "E lucevan the stelle", one of the summits of "Tosca" or his Salve Regina.

Patrick Garayt, who has a successful career with patience and intelligence throughout Europe and beyond, brings to the service of this rich repertoire, his musical qualities and his warm, agile, flexible and powerful voice. A graduate of the prestigious Tchaikovsky conservatory in Moscow and the CNSM in Paris, Slava Chevliakov, who will be at the keyboards of the great Quoirin organs of the Saint-Michel church, is one of the most talented organists of his generation.
