The footpath of the Pont des Fées (bridge of the fairies) :
The valley of the Pont des Fées is a quiet site where we can find the typical occidental Mediterranean milieu of animal life as the two turtle species, the "cistudo" of Europe (a water turtle) that frequents the river and the turtle of Hermann on the sunny hillsides, and the occidental green lizard.
The Diane, a splendid protected butterfly, frequents the riverbanks in spring together with numerous other species of insects. In summer we may listen to several species of cicada during the hot hours.
The undergrowth constitutes a place of refuge during the dry summer period for numerous species of birds and other animals; during this period the aquatic species find shelter in water holes or bury themselves in the mud or the sand waiting for the thunderstorms of the end of the summer.
